Network Setup
By far the
simplest method of networking machines. Each machine is connected to the
next in line. At the end of the chain the cable is terminated with terminators.
Additional machines may be simply added by extending the cabling accordingly.
Although, it must be noted that there is a maximum operating length for
cable. But additionally, this may be extended by using repeaters. The down
side to this network type is its performance and the speed at which it can
transfer data.
Note! Due to the recent decrease in
the component prices for the faster, more reliable network types it would
be hard to justify recommending a network of this type.
